“This correspondence is funny and disturbing. Mr. Akhtar’s play makes a forceful point about the seemingly ineradicable terrorism roiling the Middle East.“
New York Times
From the Pulitzer Prize award-winning author of Disgraced comes this exciting new thriller. Somewhere in Pakistan a top banker of New York based Citibank has been kidnapped and is being held for ransom by fundamentalists. The play becomes a gruelling, yet humorous, battle for survival, as ideology, religion and finance are navigated by the invisible hand, battling it out on stock markets, that will determine whether a country rises or falls. Someone just wants to build schools, someone wants power, they all want to live. This gripping show will have you on the edge of your seats as you discover how little you really understood about the machinations of the human mind and how much your future is influenced by forces of finance you knew nothing about. Where do terrorists get their money from?
