Jack Mormon – A Tragicomedy by Jason Cloud
Mormon Drama in Vienna
Former missionary opens up about his struggles in the Latter-day Church
in Jason Cloud’s performance piece Jack Mormon.
VIENNA, Austria – September 18, 2017 – Vienna-based artist gets dark and personal
with his theatrics and music. This “stand-up tragicomedy” explores the failed suicide
attempt of a Mormon missionary left with fragments of the past to put together and a
present to reassess. “There are a lot of rumors and misconceptions about the Church
to this day, and I want to put out my findings from first-hand experience.”
Born in the US, Jason Cloud relocates to Europe in 2010 in pursuit of his personal,
professional and artistic development in the music capital of the world. A relatively
new face in the Vienna English speaking entertainment scene, Cloud does not shy
away from addressing social taboos in his acts which are critical and often times selfdeprecating.
Jack Mormon will debut at the Ateliertheater this December.
