Love in times of ecocide
With this original play the Pennyless Players follow a very particular, turbulent love story through the ages.
April and Lucien, your seemingly everyday twenty-somethings, chance to meet in a restaurant called the Palaeolithic. April, an unambitious ex-swimmer and Lucien the passionate barkeeper immediately connect and – as they say – the rest is history. But there is more to this story than meets the eye, because this is the story of mankind.
From our budding relationship with nature in pre-history to a more and more dysfunctional approach culminating in the attempt of complete domination during the Industrial Revolution. Providing a unique point of view, the play takes us up to April and Lucien’s current relationship crisis, and wittily reminds us of what it really takes to find a solution.
